From end of March till mid of April you will see the apricot blossom all along the Wachau valley with the colourful awakening of the nature. Pfeffel’s apricot trees in the fruit garden are visit able all year long.
Specialities from the Wachau valley
The world-known Wachauer Marille – apricot of the Wachau valley, is also available in our restaurant. Apricot jam, apricot stews, apricot cakes or apricot brandies are just one of a few specialities.
When the apricot blossom starts, everybody knows, the bees are not far away. Leopold Pfeffel, next to his duties as a gardener, vintner, distiller and host, is an apiarist as well. The everyday breakfast honey on the buffet is from the own honey farm – our bee education trail in the 2nd level is telling you the stories of the bees.
