Explore with us the Baroque vaulted cellar under the “Dürnsteiner Kellerschlössel” and learn what makes the Wachau so extraordinary as wine-growing region. In the subsequent tasting, you get the specifics of Steinfeder, Federspiel and Smaragd and the Wachau grapevines on the track. “

Details for the "Dürnsteiner Kellerschlössel"

Built in the years 1714 to 1719 according to plans by Jakob Prandtauer baroque landmark of the domain Wachau is a landmark in the Wachau.  Over the centuries the Kellerschlössel had many famous guests, including Chancellor Leopold Figl, the winery visited during the negotiations on the Austrian State Treaty often like.

After extensive restoration of the interior of premises in 2006, shining frescoes, stucco and murals restored to its former, long hidden splendor. Every detail glorified the famous Wachau wines on partly serious, partly humorous way. The Kellerschlössel is famous for its collection of engravings and drawings, which have also been restored and are open for guided tours on the winery.
